Mr. Carlyle Scarborough Crutchfield, Jr., age 84, of Buford, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlyle Sr. and Cecile Crutchfield; sister, Cecile Crutchfield Abbey. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Crutchfield of Alpharetta, GA, Susan Lynn Crutchfield of Buford, GA, Cynthia Johnson of Cumming, GA, Jennifer Crutchfield of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Romans, Lilith Webb, Hannah Arrington; great-grandchild, Annabelle Romans.
Carlyle graduated from Ole Miss with a degree in accounting in 1961. He moved to Georgia to attend Emory Law School where he graduated in 1971, 3rd in his class. He was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals in 1971 and 1972.
Carlyle loved Paris and spoke fluent French. He was stationed in France while serving in the Army.
He was hardworking and loyal, and worked for the same man for almost 40 years. He was humble and never bragged about his accomplishments. He loved people and animals, but most of all he loved his family AND God.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Coates officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will be on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
