Diana Marie McClure

Diana Marie McClure, age 66, of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at her home.

She was born on January 30, 1957, to Bud and Ruby Abernathy. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Diana was preceded in death by her loving father, Bud Abernathy.

Diana is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Earl McClure; mother, Ruby Abernathy; sister, Patricia (Danny) Robinson; daughter, Deanna (Tommy) Turner; son, Daniel (Cindy) McClure; five grandchildren, Samantha Carter, Kristen (Dakota) Bays, Justin Turner, Shawn (Abby) McClure, Jake McClure; four great-grandchildren, Skylar Carter, Daylyn Bays, Kaden Bays, Addyson Turner. She also had many other that she claimed and loved as her own.

She loved her family dearly and had the great fortune of seeing five generations of her family grow during her life. Nothing made her happier than spending time with loved ones, sharing stories about the past and present, and hearing about whatever was happening in their lives. It was truly a blessing from God to have her in all of our lives as a daughter, sister, wife, grandma, great grandma. She was all of these things and was wonderful at each one, loving and serving her family and others. Galatians 5:13 tells us by love to serve one another- and although she certainly would never say so, her friends and family will be the first to tell you that she was good to all and expected nothing in return.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the each and every one that has played a part in her care and the many special friends that she made over the years.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00pm on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Abernathy and Rev. Nathan Nix will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where she will be laid to rest. The family will receive friends at Barrett Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 3 P.M. on Sunday, prior to the service at Bethel.
