Irene Hunnicutt Vaughn

Mrs. Irene Hunnicutt Vaughn, age 76 of Hammond Drive, Toccoa passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Cecil and Ida Burell Hunnicutt, she was born April 14, 1947 in Oconee County, South Carolina, having lived most of her life in Stephens County.  She was a homemaker, a member of Unity Baptist Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, building things and going to church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Jamie Vaughn, Michael Vaughn and Randy Vaughn, daughter, Rhonda Vaughn and by a brother, Grady Hunnicutt.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Renee Martin of Toccoa and Vickie and Tony Gaines of Ware Shoals, South Carolina; son, Tracy Vaughn (Cindy Hill) of Westminster, South Carolina; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Swafford of Westminster, South Carolina; brother, Jerry Hunnicutt of South Carolina.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 10, 2023, 11 o’clock a.m. at Unity Baptist Church, Westminster, South Carolina with The Reverend Ray Bohannon officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Trevor Gaines, Matthew Hunnicutt, Gregory Hunnicutt, Levi Baker, Daniel Brown, Artis Franklin, Jr., III, Tracy Vaughn and Levi Martin.

The family will receive friends at the Unity Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the service time.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Irene Hunnicutt Vaughn.
