Kenneth Jeffrey Jackson, Jr.

Obituary Date: Monday, July 3, 2023
Kenneth Jeffrey Jackson, Jr. affectionately known as “Son Son,” went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2023. We lost Kenny as a result of complications from a long-term illness which he battled with courage and quiet dignity. He was a source of love, joy, and positivity to everyone that crossed his path and he never complained about his illness or the challenges that he faced. He refused to let anything stop him from accomplishing the things that he set out to do. He was a powerful example of the words in Philippians 4:11-13. He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, GA with his family at an early age. Later he held membership at the Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Austell, GA and Antioch Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA.

Kenny was a loving son and a best friend to his parents Kenneth and Vickie Jackson. He is survived by his devoted parents Ken and Vickie. His beloved sisters - Natasha Colson and Courtney
Jackson. Step-Grandmother – Melvean Strickland. Aunts – Carolyn Young, Geraldine Hill (Stanley), Danielle Mays (Nasir), Stephanie Kemp (Wallace), Regina Dryden, and Denise Thomas. Uncles – Carlos
Young and Tony Young. Three special friends – Tamira Jones, Cameron Taylor, and Tisa Walker. He also leaves many cousins and friends to cherish all of the fond times and wonderful memories that were
made.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, David and Rosetta Jackson and his maternal grandparents, Carrie Mae Jackson, and Obadiah Young. Kenny was born and raised in Gainesville, GA and was an active student at East Hall High School. He always had a love of music and was a proud member of the Marching Band. He graduated with the EHHS
Class of 2006. In 2015, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Capella University and went on to earn a Master’s in Business Administration from Brenau University in 2019.
In 2009, Kenny took to the skies as a Flight Attendant with Air Tran/Southwest Airlines. He had a larger than life, infectious personality, loved to travel and loved people which made this the perfect career
choice. He worked as a Flight Attendant for years, until his health would not allow him to travel frequently and then he transitioned to a Senior Crew Base Coordinator.
Outside of work he enjoyed a variety of hobbies and innate talents. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed coordinating holiday festivities and other events to bring the family together.
Christmas was his favorite holiday. He was a member of and directed several choirs, he loved to sing and listen to gospel music. He loved to cook and made the most beautiful candy apples and treats that you would ever see. He also loved drawing, journaling, and target practice with his firearms. MOST IMPORTANTLY, he loved God!!! He was a devoted Son, Brother and Friend and he will be deeply
missed.
