Cheryl Elaine Hughes Cole

The family of Cheryl Elaine Hughes Cole, aged 63, are saddened to announce her passing at Northside Hospital in Cumming, Georgia, on July 14, 2023, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Cole was born January 28, 1960, in Forsyth County, Georgia, before settling in Simi Valley, California. She was known for her devotion to her family, her gentle smile and her passion for her home in Costa Rica and the Pura Vida lifestyle.
Mrs. Cole graduated with honors from the University of Georgia with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. In 1985, she began her career with Trans World Airlines (TWA) as a flight attendant and continued through their merger with American Airlines until the present.

Mrs. Cole is predeceased by her parents, James and Fances Hughes, her brother, Jay of Dawson County, and her nephew, Petty Officer Class Ryan Nix of Bedford, Kentucky. In addition, Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, George and Kathryn Cole of Atlanta, Georgia, and her brother-in-law, Jeff Cole of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband, George Tod Cole of Simi Valley, California, her daughter Ciera Cherilyn Elizabeth Cole, and her son-in-law Kevin Park of Dallas, Texas, as well as her two sisters, Julie Hughes Nix and Jan Hughes Hamilton, and her brother, Gene Hughes. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of Dawsonville.

A viewing will be held at Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville, Georgia, on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, July 17, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the

Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Ervin and Dr. Charles Blackstock officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
