Zonell C. Davis, 85 of Gainesville passed away Sunday July 23, 2023, at her residence.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late J.O. and Nicie Morrison Cantrell. She worked for Sears as head cashier for a number of years and she also worked as an administrative assistant for the Hall County Tax Commissioner's office. Mrs. Davis was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Davis, Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Dave Galloway, Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Kim Benefield, Gainesville, children, Matt and Janine Davis, Sugar Hill, Evelyn and Tim Early, Flowery Branch, sisters, Oma Millwood, Gainesville, Sue and Jessy Smith, Athens, Lenora Roper, Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, James and Joan Cantrell, Gainesville, sister-in-law, Linda Cantrell, Pendergrass. Grandchildren, Tabatha, Donnie, Emily, Jonathon, Reyna, Joey, Milton. Great Grandchildren, Chloe, Charlie, Hudson and Miles. A number of special nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Laverne Martin and Vivian Callahan, and brother, Taylor Cantrell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Dr. Tom Smiley, Dr. Jerry Gill and Oma Millwood will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday July 25, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Davis.
