Cynthia Ault ( Granny) Hudson

Mrs. Cynthia Ault (Granny) Hudson, 83, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Major Jim Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Born on October 21, 1939 in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Edward O. Ault, Sr. and the late Rosa Lee Smeltzer. Mrs. Hudson was retired from A&P and Johnson High School where she worked in the cafeteria.

Mrs. Hudson was affectionately called Granny by all who knew her. She made everyone feel welcome and she fed everyone well. Sunday family dinners were her specialty especially them “mashed taters”. She loved her Georgia Bulldogs and every Saturday, she was glued to the TV cheering them on. But most of all, her greatest earthly treasure was her family. She is finally reunited with the love her life dancing in Heaven for all to see!

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Hudson and her brother, Edward O. Ault, Jr.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by her daughter and son in law, Brenda and Tommy Nix of Flowery Branch; grandson and wife, Matthew and Kim Nix; granddaughter, Ginny Nix-Gonzalez; grandson and wife, Caleb and Hannah Nix; great grandchildren, Taylor Nix, Ethan Wood, Chase Nix, Kate Gonzalez, Riley Nix, Jonathan Gonzalez, Cora Ruth Nix and a number of other loving relatives.
