Mrs. Ella Mae Tritt Beach, a remarkable woman known for her strength, determination, and love for nature, peacefully passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 99. She was born on January 17, 1924, during the challenging era of the Great Depression, in Suches, GA, to her parents, William and Pearl Davis Tritt.
Ella Mae was one of the two pioneering graduates of the inaugural class of Woody Gap School in Suches, GA, a testament to her early commitment to education. She was born into a large family, the last of ten siblings to survive. Ella Mae faced the loss of her husband and nine of her siblings with unwavering strength as she mourned the passing of her beloved Royce Herman Beach, Clyde Poole Tritt, Melvin Tritt, Ruby Pierce, Rev. Clarence Tritt, Grace Robertson, Rev. Donald Tritt, Birdelle Lunsford, Treva Barton, and Jean Edge.
After her schooling, Ella Mae pursued her passion for learning and attended business school. Her keen organizational skills and dedication led her to become the assistant editor of the well-known Farmers and Consumers Market Bulletin. Through her work, she made a lasting impact and left an indelible mark on the publication.
Ella Mae's love for nature was evident in her green thumb. She nurtured vibrant and beautiful flowers, with daffodils being one of her specialties. She shared her gardening expertise with others by selling daffodils and seed bulbs through the Market Bulletin's classified section, where many knew her as E. Beach. Her flowers brought joy to countless lives, and her legacy continues to bloom through the gardens she tended and the lives she touched.
Beyond her accomplishments, Ella Mae was cherished for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. She embraced life's challenges with resilience and grace, serving as an inspiration to all who knew her. Ella Mae's dedication to her family and her community and her love for nature will forever be remembered.
Survivors include her sons LeVant Royce Beach (Sharon Holcombe), Gainesville; Alan Beach (Allison), Hoschton; grandchildren Priscilla York (Neal), Camilla Beach, Sophia Beach; great granddaughter Cambry York; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist "The Hill Church" Number 2. Mrs. Beach will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday. The Rev. David Barton will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
