Jerry Lynn Lane

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Jerry Lynn Lane, age 78, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Wednesday September 6, 2023. Mr. Lane was born in Canton, Georgia the son of the late Selma Roy Lane and Floy Elizabeth Cramer Lane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Lynn Daugherty.

Mr. Lane worked as a commercial truck driver for Lisa Motor Lines, was a member of American Legion Post 251, Duluth, GA., a Mason in Ramburn, AL and loved Alabama Football. Mr. Lane was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Lane of Jefferson, GA. Three daughters, Tracy Montelogo (Richard) of Jefferson, GA, Samantha Sanders (Harley) of Carthage, New York, and Lisa Bailey of Jefferson, GA. Son, Troy Lane of Jefferson, GA. Fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

The family will receive friends Wednesday September 13, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home. Interment will be 11:30 A.M. Friday September 15, 2023 at Georgia National Cemetery 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30114 with military honors by the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard.
