Lance Maurice Atkins

Lance Maurice Atkins, age 61, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. He was born on March 24, 1962, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Joe Atkins Jr. and the late Beatrice Wooten Atkins. Lance was always a happy person, enjoying life to its fullest. He was a true pillar of light to everyone around him. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two siblings, Joe Benny Atkins and Kathy Grizzle. 

He is survived by his siblings, Carl Atkins (Fannie) of McCaysville, Betty Cingel of Cleveland, Pat Etris of Dahlonega, Ronnie Atkins of Lewisburg, Kentucky, and Mike Atkins of Cleveland; and very special friend Gail Head. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.  

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
