Jack Vandiver Ayers

Jack Vandiver Ayers, age 91, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Woody Moore Ayers; parents, Dewey and Inez Burton Ayers; brothers, Milam Ayers and Norman Ayers; sister, Terice Toney; and nephew, Bill Bradford.  Mr. Ayers is survived by his twin sister, Jacqueline Burkhalter of Helen, GA.; sisters, Myra Pace of Nacoochee Sautee, GA, and Jeannette Johnson of Lake City, FL., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mr. Ayers was born on May 11, 1932 in Atlanta, GA.  He graduated from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School and attended Woodrow Wilson and John Marshall School of Law.  He was a member of Atlanta First Presbyterian Church.  Mr. Ayers proudly served in the United States Air Force and served active duty during the Korean War.  He loved fishing, boating, photography, and hunting, and he had a special place in his heart for dogs.  

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1pm - 3pm at Flanigans Funeral Home in Buford, GA.
