Shirley E. Walls

Shirley E. Walls, 78, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Born February 10, 1945 to the late Kay and Onie Lou Evans, she was born and raised in Forsyth County but lived most of her life in Dawson County.  Shirley worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Cumming for many years.  She enjoyed cooking, flowers, the outdoors, and was very devoted to her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A member of Crossroads Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dean Walls, and brother, Jerry Evans.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to North Georgia Assisted Living, Manor Lake Memory Care and to Inspire Hospice.

Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Darlene and Scott Satterfield, Paula and Keith Poss, all of Dawsonville; sister and brother in law, Betty and Pete Martin, Cumming; grandchildren, Matthew and Hayley Satterfield, Emily and Zach Richards, Collin and Kaylee Satterfield, Lauren Poss, Jacob Poss; great grandchildren, Tate Satterfield, Colt Satterfield, Waylon Satterfield, Jude Richards; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Crossroads Baptist Church.  Rev. Casey Martin and Rev. Donnie Nix will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
