Evelyn B. King

Evelyn B. King, 81, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 following a period of declining health.

Born July 14, 1942 to the late Edwin and Ganell Burt, she lived most of her life in Lumpkin County.  Evelyn retired from Amicalola Propane following many years of service and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.  Evelyn lived life to it’s fullest in her own way and her greatest joy was to make people laugh.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tommy C. King; daughters, Erica King, Leah Smith; and sister, Margaret Kennedy.

Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Smith, Dawsonville; grandsons, Bobby Garrett, Eric Garrett; sister, Geneva Bearden, Dawsonville; much loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; her special loves, Mary Anglin Richardson and Reagan Richardson who adopted her as “Grandma”.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Dennis Bottoms and Rev. Stephen Davis will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
