John David Smith

Mr. John David Smith, Sr., 82, of Lula, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Dwayne Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Timberridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on March 8, 1941 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Frank Wesley and Belle Turpin Smith. He was a self-employed painter.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brothers, Ira Smith, Frank Smith, Jr., Charlie Smith, Hubert Smith, Paul Smith; sisters, Gussie Mae Ivie, Mary Turner, Rilla Cothran, Brenda McDonald and Lucille Grant.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Ruby Nell Smith of Alto; sons, John David Smith, Jr., of Lula, Anthony Steven Smith of Alto; daughter and son in law, Michelle and Stacey Baugh of Lula; grandchildren, Chris Smith, Kelly Smith, Anthony Franklin Smith, Kerry Steven Smith, Michael Fortner, Adam Fortner, Kody Mason Fortner, Bethany Trumblay, Noah Baugh and a number of other loving relatives.
