Mattie Venable Pugh

Mrs. Mattie Venable Pugh, age 87, of Buford, GA passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 after several challenging years with Alzheimer’s disease.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Troyce Pugh; parents, Luss and Madge Venable; sister Eula Mae Pruitt; brother, Clyde Venable.  Mrs. Pugh is survived by her sons, Keith (Gayle) Pugh of Gainesville, GA, and Kevin (Cindy) Pugh of Buford, GA; daughters, Karen (Jack) Lynn of Buford, GA, and Kathy (Andy) Weisberg of Duluth, GA; grandchildren, Katie (Zac) McClure, Joseph Lynn, Erica (Nathan) Reid, Jill Pugh, Zac Pugh, Natalie (Brad) Mitchell, Traci (Matt) Gang, and Adam Weisberg; great-grandchildren, Abbey Mitchell, Wes Mitchell and Mattie Kate McClure; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Mrs. Pugh received her education from Sugar Hill High School, graduating as Valedictorian of the Class of 1954.  She retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in Chamblee, GA after 25+ years of service.  During her early retirement years, she cherished spending time sewing, crocheting, knitting and gardening.  She loved her family and was proud to be “Grammy” and “Maw Maw”.

The family would like to extend our appreciation, gratitude and love to her loving and dedicated caregivers: Kerri Smith, Tammy Michaels, and Barbara Norris.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 17, 2023, in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA, with Rev. Jeff Appling officiating.  Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. 

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society (GA Chapter), Alzheimer Association (GA Chapter), or a charity of your choice.
