Willette Pearson Jackson

Willette Pearson Jackson went to her heavenly home on November 30, 2023 at the age of 97. She was born September 26, 1926 in Danielsville, GA to Bertie Mae Goodrum Pearson and Harvey Newton Pearson. Willette was the preceded in death by her husband, John B. Jackson; two of their sons, Rodney John and Ronald Wayne Jackson; brothers, LeRoy, Frank, Harold, Gene, and Vinson Pearson; and sisters, Lorene Sorrow, Kathryn Swindal, and Annie Ruth Pearson.

Willette lived a full long life. She was the oldest living member of Christian Life Worship Center (formally Tarkenton Memorial). She retired from General Times in Athens, Georgia. However, her passion was taking care of her family, writing poetry, crocheting, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Tonge (Sammy) of Danielsville, Randy Jackson of Nicholson, and Rusty Jackson of Commerce; four grandchildren, Jamie Palmer Wise (Aaron) of Tifton, Hannah Jackson of Nicholson, Heather Smith (Jimmy) of Carnesville, and Rowdy Jackson of Commerce; four great-grandchildren, James, Will, and John “JR” Wise of Tifton and James Smith of Carnesville; and sisters, Vonnie Parnell, Blenda Smith, and Rebecca Bradberry all of Athens.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 2 PM at Christian Life Worship Center with Rev. Brian Williams and Rev. Terry Kesling officiating with the interment following at Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
