Brenda Young Smith

Brenda Young Smith, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 following a brief illness.

Born January 3, 1944 to the late Lloyd and Pauline Young, Brenda was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  She was a devout Christian and attended Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church in Dawsonville.  Brenda was a beloved member of the community who spent over 40 years working at Dawson County Bank/United Community Bank until her retirement.  She was a talented accordion player and spent many years singing gospel music with her family at many churches in the area.  Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harvey Smith.

Surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Emelita Young of Dawsonville and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Jimmy Payne and Rev. Austin Houston will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 17 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
