Emma Lou Reed

Emma Lou Reed, 83 of Maysville passed away Monday December 18, 2023, at her home.  Emma was born on October 23, 1940 in Hoschton, GA to the late Oscar and Lela Ethel Murphy.

In addition to her parents, Emma is preceded in death by her daughter Melinda Sue Ward and son Mitchell Lynn Ward and brothers, Johnny and Ike Murphy.

She is survived by her children, Belinda Ann (James) Martin, Harold Dean (Karen) Ward Jr., Melissa (Anthony) Massey and Larry Ward. Brothers, Gene and Paul Murphy and sister Betty Hayes Adams, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday December 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be Wednesday December 20 at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
