Jerry "Spence" Pruitt, age 69, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on December 21, 2023. He was born on March 20, 1954, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to the late Jim and Girlie Pruitt. Spence was known for his love of bluegrass music and his exceptional talent as a musician, particularly skilled at playing the mandolin. He had a remarkable sense of humor and was cherished for his ability to lighten any room with his jokes and wit.
In addition to his parents, Spence was preceded in death by his siblings, Russell Pruitt, Randy Pruitt, Mildred Rider, Larry Pruitt, Leroy Pruitt, and Charles Pruitt.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jim (Hannah) Pruitt of Dahlonega; siblings Phillis Burton, Thomas Pruitt, Sandra (Johnny) Seabolt; sister-in-law Rachael Pruitt; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Danny Baker and the Rev. Lyman Caldwell. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Cavender Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Spence will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his music and memories will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
