Mr. Arthur Joe Young Jr. was born on August 9, 1962, to the late Jocephus and Louvenia Young. Arthur affectionately known as “Junior” was raised in Hall County, GA and attended Gainesville Schools. In school he played football and the trombone. Junior dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age and continued to make him the source of his strength while here on earth. Junior was a certified roofer, a carpenter, and a mechanic. He was a man of many talents, but one of his favorites was his love as a drummer. Junior was in a gospel group where he singed, played the drums, piano and guitar. Junior was a loving husband and loved spending time with his family and friends. You would always see him wearing his shades with a smile. Mr. Arthur Young was proceeded in death by his, mother, Louvenia Young, and Father Jocephus Young; Brother, James (Bootie) Jeffrey, three sisters; Marie Collins, Babara Ann, and Lavon Young. Junior leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Mary Wilcox-Young, One daughter Natasha Hull; three sons, Wiliam Wilcox Jr., Shaquile Wilcox, and Jamaris Wilcox, fourteen Grandchildren; Tamara, Eight, James Jr., Jeremiah, Jasmine, Mya, Elijah, Star, Skylar, Marie, Shaquile Jr., Sari, Savion, and Santana and One great grandchild. Four sisters, Linda Bailey, Mary Lois, Alma Jean, and Teresa Ann Young. Two Sister in-laws: Doris (Ernest) Kendrick, and Sabrina (Warren) Cousin. One brother: David E. Young. Two brother in-laws; Willie (Latrel) Gresham and Charles (Sabrina) Gresham. Three Aunts Mattie Hughley, Carolyn Strickland, and Pearline Young. Three Uncles; Harvey Young, Curtis Harper and Roger Harper. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members and close and dear friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Oakwood, GA. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, between the hours of 12:00 noon - 8:00 PM. Family will receive friends between the hours of 6-8 PM.
