Maurice E. Chapman

Maurice E. Chapman, 82 of Gainesville passed away on December 23, 2023.  Maurice was born on September 21, in Haines City, Florida to the late Cecil and Ethel Chapman. He grew up on Lake Tracy and loved water skiing and fishing.  That love continued throughout his life which led to him retiring to Lake Lanier with his wife, Gena. 

Maurice was a member of Lanier Corvettes Unlimited where he was able to share his love of Corvettes.  He also enjoyed photography, hunting, hiking in the Smoky Mountains, and vacationing to Sanibel Island, FL with his family.    

Maurice spent most of his career as the Director of Maintenance and Engineering at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. 

He is survived by his wife Gena Chapman, and his daughters Kathy (Tim) Lickliter, of Maryville, TN, and Jenny (Mike) Lanham from Cumming, GA, and grandchildren Katie and Andy Lanham.
