Gary W. Sloan

  Mr. Gary W. Sloan, age 87 of Gainesville, passed away on January 25, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm at the funeral home, prior to the service.

            Mr. Sloan was born December 18, 1936 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Ray C. Sloan and Lillie Bell McGhee Sloan.  He was retired from Ralston Purina, where he worked in production and was a member of Chestnut Mountain Church.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rebecca Sloan and his brothers, Wayne Sloan and James Douglas Sloan.

            Mr. Sloan is survived by his children, Brian & Annette Sloan of Flowery Branch, David & Tia Sloan of Gainesville, and Scott & Michelle Sloan of Maysville, his grandchildren, Brandon & Abigail Sloan of Flowery Branch, Caitlin & Blaine Hardy of Hoschton, Karis & Will Ledford of Hoschton, Tanner Sloan, Tyler & Brittany Sloan and Darian Sloan, his 5 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Nell Sloan of Gainesville.
