Dorothy Jarrell Johnson

Dorothy Jarrell Johnson, 100 of Gainesville passed away Sunday January 28, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Paul Johnson; parents, Bert A. Jarrell and Jesse Mae Jarrell; two brothers, Jack R. Jarrell and G.W. (Jimmy) Jarrell.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Faye Markey of Gainesville, GA., and Rhonda and Don Contreras of Crescent City, FL., and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Dot was a stay-at-home Mom until Rhonda was in high school. Then she began taking catering and cake decorating courses through Atlanta Area Tech school. After which she began her own catering business from her home. She also taught catering and cake decorating courses at Atlanta Area Tech.

The family will receive family and friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Thursday February 1, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held Friday February 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive, SW, Atlanta, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 800 S. Enota Drive, NE, Gainesville, Ga., 30501
