Frances Gailey Hurley

Mrs. Frances Gailey Hurley, age 97 of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Manor Lake of Gainesville, following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Chaplin Stanley Samuel, Spiritual Counselor at Golden Rule Hospice will officiate. The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024 for visitation from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the Funeral service.         

Frances was born September 11, 1926 in Clermont, Georgia to Charlie and Fannie Mae Gailey.  She was a graduate of Clermont High School.  She was a loving and supportive wife to Lester Hurley for sixty years and a wonderful and loving mother to their daughter, Diane Hurley Rorabaugh for 50 years. 

Frances enjoyed golfing, playing Bridge, parties and celebrations and especially family reunions.  She was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Gainesville, GA. She was a volunteer for many years with the Auxiliary at North East Georgia Medical Center where she enjoyed volunteering in the Gift Shop.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Fannie Mae Gailey, husband Lester Hurley, daughter Diane Hurley Rorabaugh, sister, Emelyn Gailey Glover and brother, Leon Gailey.

Frances is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with each and every one and will be greatly missed.
