Donald L. Bruce

Donald L. Bruce, 86, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

Born February 19, 1937 in Dawson County to the late Lee and Ruby Bruce, he lived most of his life in Forsyth County.  Mr. Bruce retired as a self employed residential contractor.  He was a master craftsman, enjoyed restoring old cars, hunting, fishing, travel and caving.  Donald was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of Christian Hill Baptist Church.  Also preceding him in death are his wife, Imogene Bruce; brothers, Eugene Bruce and Ernest Bruce.

Surviving are his daughter and son in law, Angela Jean and Mike Savage, Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Wayne and Tammy Bruce, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Gunter and Maleesha Bruce, Kody and Heather Savage, Kevin and Dawn Savage; great grandchildren, Kayson Bruce, Dawson Bruce, Easton Savage, Olivia Savage; sister and brother in law, Evelyn and Sam Swann, Flowery Branch; brothers and sisters in law, Hoyt and Mary Bruce, Glen and Janie Bruce, Stanley Bruce, all of Dawsonville; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Richard Picklesimer and Rev. Leonard W. Ridings will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
