Carol Murray Haynie

Obituary Date: Tuesday, February 13, 2024

Carol Murray Haynie, 64, of Chicopee, Georgia, and previously of Fayetteville, GA, peacefully left us in the early morning of February 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 9, 1960, Carol lived a vibrant life marked by her love for friends and family and the simple joys that nature offers.

Carol's love for sunrises and sunsets was well-known among her family and friends, with whom she shared countless photographs capturing these moments. Her adventurous spirit was fulfilled through camping trips with her husband, David, and their friends.  Carol enjoyed kayaking on Lake Lanier and cherished the warmth of a campfire, regardless of the season. Although her happiest moments were spent with her feet buried in the sands of Mexico Beach, Florida.

A diehard Atlanta Braves fan, Carol's enthusiasm for the game was infectious, often "coaching" her team through spirited discussions in the Murray sisters’ group chat.

She leaves behind a loving family: her husband, David Haynie; sons, Brett and Kyle Haynie; and sisters, Cheryl (Murray) Thompson, Charlene (Murray) Mosshart, and Cindy (Murray) Hasty. Carol's legacy of warmth, generosity, and a zest for life will live on through them and all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a cause dear to Carol's heart, reflecting her determination to end breast cancer for all women.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Longstreet Clinic for their dedicated care throughout Carol's six-year battle with breast cancer, and to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for providing peace and comfort in Carol’s final days.

A Celebration of Carol’s life will be held on March 16, 2024 form 6-8pm at the Elachee Nature Science Center, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and the light she brought into the world.  The family kindly requests that you RSVP for Carol's Celebration of Life using the following Link.

We take comfort in knowing that Carol is now at peace and free from pain, leaving us with cherished memories and the inspiration to find beauty in the world around us.
