Dorothy "Joyce" Harkins Satterfield

Dorothy “Joyce” Harkins Satterfield, age 81 of Dahlonega, GA passed away on February 19, 2024 after a brief illness.

Joyce was born in White County, GA on May 23, 1942 to the late Charlie and Berbie Robinson Harkins and lived all of her life in Dahlonega. She married Robert Satterfield on November 30, 1962. She was a loving wife, sister and “Mama Joyce” to many. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and loved Jesus. She loved going fishing, hunting and camping. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States with friends and family. She retired from Torrington and the Lumpkin County Finance Department and then worked part time for Floyd Wimpy.

Joyce was preceded in death by her sister Betty Garrett.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 61 years Robert Satterfield, sisters and brothers-in-law Joan & Johnny Justus and Geraldine & CF Collins, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 12:00 PM-1:45 PM at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Kris Butler, Lyman Caldwell, Mickey Wheeler and Ernest Fortner will officiate. The family requests no food.
