Wyndal Ravan Allison

Mrs. Wyndal Ravan Allison, age 81, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Wyndal was born April 18, 1942 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Grover Ravan and Thelma Lawson Ravan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard William Allison; brothers-in-law, Larry Whelchel and Junior Sampson; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Linda Ravan

Wyndal was a 1959 graduate of North Hall High School and also graduated from North Georgia College with a BS in Education. She later obtained her Master’s Degree. She taught middle school and high school in the Lumpkin County School system for many years then eventually taught at Sardis and North Hall High School where she retired. She was an educator for over 30 years. She was a longtime member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

She is survived by her siblings, Sybil Durham (Homer); Ruth Copeland; Elizabeth Whelchel; in-laws, Bonnie Elrod (James); Mattie Sampson; Judy Edwards (Larry) and Ronald Allison and a number of beloved nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 5233 Will Wheeler Road Murrayville, GA 30564.
