Jacqueline Voyd Magee

Jacqueline Boyd Magee, age 82, of Gainesville, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

 Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, John Boyd and Rebecca Morris, her brother-in-law Arnold K. Weber, her sister-in-law, Eve Robinson, and her brother-in-law, Robert Robinson. 

She is survived by her husband, Edward S. Magee, Jr., and her two children, Jonathan S. Magee and Pamela B. Mullin, and their spouses, Missy Magee, and Mark Mullin; her sister, Janet Weber; four grandchildren: Jana and Davis Magee and Matthew and Mitchell Mullin; and seven nieces and nephews: Jeffrey Weber, Todd Weber, and Susan Weber Burress and Brad, Rick, Mark, and Michael Robinson, along with their families.  

Jacqueline was a native of the Cherry Hill area of New Jersey.  Her early years as a wife and mother included an extended residence at Pine Valley Golf Club located in the pine barrens of southwest New Jersey.  Family career opportunities later took her to Austin, TX, Palm Beach Gardens and Pensacola, FL, Detroit, MI and Atlanta, GA.  Along the way, she made numerous friends and created a welcoming home for her family in every location. 

Professionally, Jacqueline was a successful office manager and administrative assistant for a variety of companies, most recently with Technology Park/Atlanta in Johns Creek, GA.  Her love for the Alpharetta and Johns Creek community led her and Ed to retire to the northern suburbs of Atlanta in Cumming, GA.  She and Ed joined the Cumming First United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed singing as a member of the church choir.  She also cherished being close to her children, who both live in the Atlanta area. 

Jackie loved to sing, as well as dance.  She also had a deep love of travelling.  Her travels, both as a child and an adult, took her to all fifty states as well as overseas.  She enjoyed her new adventures, especially those that included family.  Flights with her children to Arizona to visit her sister and her family, to New Jersey to spend time with her mother and Sister-in-law’s family, family vacations in Hawaii, Vermont, Washington, DC and the Jersey shore, and many excursions to the Biltmore Estate and beach towns with her daughter all created special memories that were such an important part of who she was.

Reflecting on her family is not complete without considering her extended family members; the many dogs that she welcomed into her household over the years.  Mardi, Max, Abbey, Barney, Jilly, Flakey, and Krissy all loved her dearly, and we are comforted knowing that they were at Heaven’s Gate to greet her.

A private funeral service for family and caregivers will be held at The Phoenix at Lake Lanier Assisted Living on March 16, 2024, at noon.
