Glenn D. Abernathy, age 72, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Marvene Burel Abernathy; brother, Myron Abernathy; and daughter, Vickie Abernathy. Mr. Abernathy is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Donna Everett Abernathy; children, Alan and Kimberly Abernathy of Tarpon Springs, FL, Michael and Katie Abernathy of Statham, GA, Jamie and Bobby McKnight of Winder, GA; nine grandchildren, Justin Pass, Megan Pass, Holly Davis, Victoria Abernathy, Ben Abernathy, Levi Abernathy, Josie Abernathy, Samuel McKnight, Oliver McKnight; sisters, Martha (Jerry) Casper of Buford, and Loretta Thornton of Lawrenceville, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernice and Evelyn Everett of Buford; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Abernathy was born on August 31, 1951 in Duluth, GA, and graduated in 1969 from North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA. He retired from Maltese Sign Company after forty-five years of making wood signs. Mr. Abernathy was a member of Collins Hill Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA and he loved gardening and wood working. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Duncan Creek Congregational Church on Braselton Hwy with Pastor Dan Huff officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Creek Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the funeral home.
