Nell Gilstrap Norris

Mrs. Nell Gilstrap Norris, age 91 of Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.  

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.       

Mrs. Norris was born May 17, 1932 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late John Gilstrap and Mattie Ryder Gilstrap.  She was retired from Hall County School System as an educator and was a member of Christ Place Church.  Nell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James S. Norris.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her children, Kathryn Norris Orr of Cumming, Kay & Tim Watkins of Marietta and David & Mary Ann Norris of Gainesville, her grandchildren, Chris Orr, Aundrea Baisley, James Watkins, Brittany Opitz, Ashley Norris and Amanda Norris and her 6 great-grandchildren also survive.
