Ruby Nell Mitchell Johnson

Ruby Nell Mitchell Johnson, age 76, of Decatur, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Mary Cook Mitchell; sisters, Sandra Mitchell Pattillo and Bettye Jean Mitchell.  Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter Tia Johnson Lemon and son-in-law, Benjamin Lemon, Jr. of Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Benjamin Christopher Lemon and Rachel Sydney Lemon of Sugar Hill, GA; sister, Ann Bert Mitchell of Atlanta, GA; niece, Candace Sullivan Ingram; several cousins. 

Ms. Johnson was born December 8, 1947 in Atlanta, GA.  She was a 1964 graduate of David T. Howard High School, a 1970 graduate of Clark College in Atlanta with a Bachelor’s Degree, and a 1982 graduate of GA State College with a Masters Degree.  She retired from the Atlanta Public School System as a High School Administrator after 30 years of service.  Ms. Johnson was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, (trinity Eastern Star Chapter 2).  She was a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church since 1987 in Lithonia, GA.  She was also a Licensed Real estate broker with Metro Brokers.  A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Lincoln Cemetery Chapel, 2275 Joseph E Boone Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30314.
