Sylvia Hawks McNabb

Mrs. Sylvia Hawks McNabb, age 86, of Nicholson, GA died Monday, April 8, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Mrs. McNabb was the daughter of the late Joe and Elizabeth Simmons Shelnut.  She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and retired from General Times.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. McNabb was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Talmadge Hawks; second husband, Dennis Reed McNabb, Sr.; and daughter-in-law, Janet Hawks.

Mrs. McNabb is survived by her son, Greg Hawks of Nicholson; daughters, Vickie Prickett (Brantley) of Carnesville, Terri Craig (Jody) of Hull and Amanda Manning (Bo) of Commerce; special daughter, Cindy Smith of Nicholson; caregiver, Brooklynn Wyatt; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 10 at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Zach Hawks and Rev. Geter Owens officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1 to 2 PM.
