Lieutenant Commander Russell Ellis

Lieutenant Commander Russell Ellis USN (Ret) passed away at the age of 93 after a brief illness on April 7, 2024. LCDR Ellis was born in Casper, Wyoming on July 24, 1930.  He is preceded in death by his soul mate and loving wife of 62 years, Doris and his grandson Casey Kinsey.  He is survived by his four children, Debra Kinsey, Vicki Tamplin, Kimberly Richard, and Patrick Ellis; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  LCDR Ellis served 22 years in the US Navy, was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and traveled to more than 90 countries.  He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, generous to the core.  Dad, aka Papa, will be missed beyond words.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
