Mary Elizabeth Baird, age 90 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Memorial Park South Chapel with interment following at Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Justin Arnold will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Elizabeth Baird was born March 24, 1934 to the late Oscar Glenn Abernathy & Aubrey Ernestine White Abernathy in Jefferson, Georgia. She was a retired fiber optic technician with Lucent Technologies and a member of Redwine United Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted mother. During her later years, she was devoted to her cat, Maggie.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Debbie) Garrett of Gainesville; daughters, Donna Burch of Flowery Branch, Yvonne (Mike) Morris of Oakwood, & Becky (Jerry) Taylor of Flowery Branch; brother, Wayne (Sandra) Abernathy of Flowery Branch; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, O.G. Abernathy & Donald Abernathy.
