Georgia Mae Muse Looney

Georgia Mae Muse Looney, age 66, of Demorest, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Born on December 21, 1957, in Commerce, she was a daughter of the late William “Bill” Robert Muse and Sybil Irene Phillips Trotter.  Mrs. Looney had worked with White County Schools and was of the Holiness faith.  She was a loving mama and grandma to everyone, who especially enjoyed cooking for the holidays, and family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Robert Looney.

Survivors include her former husband, Jerry C. Looney, Sr.; children and their spouses: Jerry C. Looney, Jr. of Demorest, Chris Ivester (Melissa) of Lula, William Looney of Demorest, Charles Looney of Alabama, Georgia Black (Raleigh) of Demorest, Sybil Elizabeth May (Jeffery) of Demorest, and Rebecca Looney (John) of Cornelia; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sisters, Rachel Trotter of Alto, and Naomi Ward of Demorest; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services are 2 pm on Monday, April 15, 2024, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Leon Brown and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating.  Interment will follow in Demorest City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the funeral home.
