Homer Thomas "H.T." Moore

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Homer Thomas”H.T.” Moore, age 89, of Athens, Georgia (South Jackson Community) who entered rest Thursday April 18, 2024. Mr. Moore was born in Jefferson, Georgia the son of the late T.R. Moore and the late Asleen Mattews Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Watkins Moore, one sister and five brothers.

Mr. Moore was in the lumber business with Doug Moore Sawmill and was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, Nicholson, Georgia. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include daughter, Towana Moore of Athens, GA. Two sons, Jeffery Thomas of Commerce, GA and Joe Moore of Braselton, GA. Three sisters, Betty Freeman, Glenda Conwell and Carol Walker. Two brothers, Ronnie Moore and David Moore. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday April 21, 2024 at Antioch United Methodist Church 885 Antioch Church Road, Nicholson, GA 30565. In accordance with Mr. Moore’s wishes, his remains were cremated.
