Algernon F. (Al) Meeks

Mr. Algernon F. (Al) Meeks, 82, of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Boone Strickland will officiate.

Born on April 3, 1942 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Roy M. Meeks Sr. and Violet Woodall Meeks.   Mr. Meeks was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Gainesville Mill, Lockheed and helped in the family Café alongside family at Doug’s Drive In. He was a member of the former Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Meeks was preceded in death by his brothers, Durward (Mary), Roy Jr. (Betty) Doug (Martha)

Charles Howard (Fuzz) (Sally), Kenneth, Jerome (Judy); sisters, Leora Ivey (Freeman), Helen Martin (J.D.).

MR. Meeks is survived by his sister, Rosa Maddox (Lendgrin) and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives.
