Samuel James Galloway Jr.

Samuel James Galloway Jr. age 85, of Hoschton, GA, passed away peacefully at home on April 27th 2024. He was born December 10th, 1938, in Johnson City, Tennessee.

In 1997, Sam married his sweetheart Carole (Crowding) Galloway and for over two decades resided in Decatur, Georgia.

He loved sharing his stories about his days growing up in Johnson City, the hotel business and his travel stories with the Southern Council. Sam was a gentle caring man, his passion was family, reading, history, traveling and talking to his Grand-kids. He had a multitude of jobs but found his passion working with the Southern Council of Optometry. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing and walking the dogs.

Sam is survived by his wife Carole (Crowding) Galloway; his children Terry Galloway, Scott (Christie) Galloway, stepsons Tracy Swicegood and Todd (Patty) Swicegood. Their grandchildren Robert Galloway, Michael, Caroline, Chrissy and Emma Swicegood. His great grandchildren Harper and Madison Swicegood.

Preceded in death by his parents Mary Dell (Crouch) Galloway of Virginia, Samuel James Galloway Sr. of Washington County, TN and his Brothers Marvin and David Galloway.
