Richard L. Christopher

Richard L. Christopher, age 66, of Maysville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Cochran Christopher; brother, Billy Joe Christopher, Sr.  Mr. Christopher is survived by his wife of 26 years, Vickie Moore Christopher; children, Richard (Christa) Christopher, Jr. of Maysville, GA; Londa (Kevin) Champion of Shady Dale, GA; grandchildren, K.C. Champion, Gracie Champion, Marilyn Christopher, and Khloe Christopher; great-grandchild, Tenley Speltz; father, Wilson Christopher of Jefferson, GA; brother, William (Avis) Christopher of Dublin, GA; sister, Patricia (David) Calvert of Jefferson, GA; sister-in-law, Brenda Christopher of Canton, GA; several nice nephews and cousins.

Mr. Christopher was born September 27, 1957 in Atlanta, GA.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served two years.  He received his education at Norcross High School.  Mr. Christopher was a retired truck driver with Consolidated Freight Way with 20 years of service.  He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Duluth, GA and also preached at Freewill Pentecostal Church in Buford, GA.

Mr. Christopher was a fun loving, gracious, hardworking provider.  To know him was to love him – and if you knew him, you were loved by him as family.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May, 20, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA, with Rev. Aaron Calvert officiating.  Interment, with a graveside service, will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Ga. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2612 Vinson Hwy., Milledgeville, GA, 31061.  The family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
