Billy Ray Pruitt

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Billy Ray Pruitt, age 72, of Jefferson, who passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Mr. Pruitt was born in Pendergrass, Georgia a son to the late Luther John Pruitt and the late Ruth Aikens Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt owned and operated Investment Housing and Development and Pruitt Automart. Mr. Pruitt was a member of the New Beginnings Pentecostal Outreach. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pruitt is preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Jean Pruitt, brothers, Henry and James Pruitt, sister-in-law, Stella Pruitt and the mother of his children, Betty Reynolds Pruitt.

Survivors include his daughter Stefanie Pruitt McDaniel and her children, Kayli McDaniel, Caden McDaniel and Kinsey McDaniel and their father Chad McDaniel. His son, Greg Pruitt and his daughter, Aberlin Pruitt. Three sisters, Connie Taylor and her husband Tom of Jefferson, Joyce Lance and her husband Marty of Pendergrass, Tammy Love and her husband Shannon of Pendergrass; sister-in-law Nan Pruitt of Jefferson. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends also survive.

Billy was lovingly cared for and also survived by his significant other Denise Doss of Jefferson.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Pendergrass Baptist Church with Reverend Randall Hulsey and Reverend Wayne Norris officiating. The burial will follow in the Pendergrass Baptist Church Cemetery.

The visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson.
