Henry "Pete" Franklin Barrett, Jr.

Mr. Henry “Pete” Franklin Barrett, Jr., age 85, of Cornelia, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Mr. Barrett was born on February 20, 1939, in Hall County to the late Henry Franklin Barrett, Sr. and Nell Gorman Barrett.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann and Jack Crawford; sister, Janelle Black. Mr. Barrett was a 1957 graduate of Cleveland High School, a 1961 graduate of Aeronautical Administration at the University of Georgia and was a retired District Director of Environmental Health for the State of Georgia.  He married his wife, Hazel Smith in 1961, where they began their life together. 

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hazel Barrett, Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and James Mullis; grandchildren, Alisha and Coy Harpe, Kristen and Jared Hughes, and John Henry Mullis; great-grandchildren, Jack Harpe and Parker Hughes; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Kathryn Barrett; brother-in-law, Leroy Black; and many other relatives. 

The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the funeral home.
