On Tuesday June 18, 2024, Joyce Grant Cochran, entered the gates of heaven greeted by her many friends and loved ones gone before her.
The 88-year-old daughter of Guy and Minnie Grant, Joyce was the eldest of their six children. Growing up in the Cool Springs Community, she attended Sardis School from first through 12th grade graduating as Valedictorian.
Joyce married George on December 23, 1954. For 64 years, they devoted themselves to church, family and friends. They were known for sharing wonderful summer vegetables with everyone. George passed away in 2018.
For 37 years, Joyce worked for the Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic. It was not just a job. The highlight of her life was the many friends she made while working there. Following retirement, she loved the monthly breakfasts with other retired coworkers at Longstreet Cafe,
Joyce is survived by son, Reggie, and her siblings, Jerry Grant, Margaret McCrary, Freddie Pinson, Franklin Grant and Janice Lee. A large extended family is also left to mourn her passing.
A member of First Baptist Church, her services are scheduled for Thursday July 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday July 11 from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
In her final days, the family wishes to extend a very special "Thank You" for the loving care provided to Joyce by Hospice of Northeast Georgia, the family also wishes to say thank you to Chelsey Park in Dahlonega, Bee Hive Assisted Living and The Ashton.
