Charles Phillip Bragg

Obituary Date: Monday, July 1, 2024
Charles Phillip Bragg was born on February 10, 1938 and passed peacefully on July 1, 2024. Phillip spent his last days surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a son, Tim (Libby) Bragg; his daughter, Marcene Bragg; and special lifelong friend, Lois Davis Boggs. Stories of acts of kindness and fun memories were left for his grandkids to remember and to share. His grandchildren include Rachel Kelly, Bridgette Kelly, Trevor Grogan, Christian Bragg, Dakota Bragg, Nevaeh Bragg, Nicole Bragg, and Andrew Bragg. Phillip is survived by his younger brother, Tim Bragg and was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Thomas T. Bragg and mother, Maxine Young Bragg, and his older brother, John Bragg.
Phillip rarely met a stranger and always had a story to tell. Most stories about Phillip were so far-fetched that you would think most were made up wild tales. They were wild tales, but all true. Being such a people person Phillip spent a lifetime in sales and other jobs connecting with people. After graduating from Decatur High School in 1957, Phillip served in the US Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he made an impact in the real estate market as Atlanta grew rapidly in the 70s. He broke many sales records at different companies along the way. His talent was people and his secret was his ability to listen. In his last career path Phillip worked as a Land Agent for Georgia Power.
As a young boy, he enjoyed riding his horse “Lady” to any place to play or camp for that day. Phillip seemed to always have a horse, or be lost in thoughts about adventures riding a horse. No matter where Phillip lived or worked, he had a passion for horses, football, and also enjoyed many friendships around a poker table. He will certainly be missed, but the caring and generous example he set toward others will continue to change lives. We love you, Dad … “Pawp, Poppy”
