William Joseph “Billy” Smith

William Joseph “Billy” Smith aged 62 of Mt. Airy, Ga passed away July 18, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Andrew William and Ollie Mae McNeil Smith -Houston, TX; maternal grandparents Elmo and Rosa Reynolds Lowe - Buford, GA; brother Andy Smith of Decatur, GA.

He is survived by his parents Andrew William “Bill” and Lanora Lowe Smith - Mt. Airy, Ga; daughter Tana Hubbard- Braselton, Ga; sisters Nina (Newell) Young - Baldwin, GA; Mary (Trent) Palmer - Monroe, Ga; Cyndi Smith - Marietta, Ga. Granddaughter Savanna Hubbard, Nieces and nephews : Trenton (Kym) Young, Tyler Young, Rebecca Underwood - Adebayo (Tim), Miranda Young, Samantha (Matthew) Olean, Melinda Palmer; great nieces and nephews: Vince Young, Yancey Bolton, Ava Young, Hudson Abou-Sraje, Cara Young, Avery Adebayo and numerous cousins.

Mr. Smith was born in Buford, GA December 28, 1961. As a small child, moved with his family to Texas, he then returned to Buford, and received his education from Buford High School class 1980. He joined the US Airforce after high-school. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed painting, and growing zinnias and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
