Obituary Date: Saturday, July 20, 2024

Ford Reece, 84, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at his residence.

Born April 23, 1940 in Dawson County to the late Joe Brown and Onnie Reece, he had lived in Hall County for the past 45 years.  Mr. Reece retired from Cornet Carpet following 32 years of service.  He enjoyed working on cars, building and remodeling, and anything outdoors.  Ford attended Chestatee Worship Center and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clayton Reece and Woody Reece.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Mary Jean Reece, Gainesville; children, Lawton and Karen Reece, Dawsonville, Frankie and Peggy Reece, Dawsonville, Jo Ann and Richard Rider, Dahlonega, Corkey and Melina Reece, Dahlonega, Danny Head and Juanita Starr, Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Opal “Dollie” Hansard, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 2 o’clock at Chestatee Worship Center with the remains placed in state at 12 noon.  Pastor Ricky Stepp will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Chestatee Worship Center on Thursday beginning at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to assist with final expenses.
