Phil Judson Slaughter

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Phil Judson Slaughter, age 91, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest on Saturday July 20, 2024. Mr. Slaughter was born in Johnson City, Tennessee the son of the late D.C. Slaughter and the late Hazel Sanders Slaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Phil Judson Slaughter Jr., sister, Virginia Carter and a brother, Jack Slaughter.

Mr. Slaughter worked as a accountant with Georgia Tech and many other smaller firms, a member of Coosa United Methodist Church, Suches, GA but had been attending Jefferson Presbyterian Church, Jefferson, GA. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, loved watching football and baseball, working in his garden and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years,  Patricia Ann Slaughter of Jefferson, GA. Son, David Clarence Slaughter (Nicole) of Commerce, GA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 27, 2024 at Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Reverend Paul Evans officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
