Rosa Lee Bingham Chastain

Rosa Lee Bingham Chastain, age 100, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Mrs. Chastain was born on July 30, 1924 in Oconee County, South Carolina to the late Harley and Carlie Bynum Bingham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Rev. L.R. "Lee Roy" Chastain; great-granddaughter, Alexandra Foster.

Rosa was a true example of strength, resilience and grace. Throughout her life, she drew strength and inspiration from her faith. Her unwavering belief in God was a constant source of comfort and guidance for her. Her belief in God gave her the courage to face adversity with grace and dignity. Through her unwavering faith, she taught her family that even in the face of hardship and uncertainty, faith can provide you with strength and courage to persevere. Rosa will be remembered for her legacy of love and knowledge she gave to so many people as well as her love for traveling. Her legacy of compassion and kindness will forever be a cherished treasure by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Pat Galloway, of Clarkesville; Pam Chastain, of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Pat Chastain, of Demorest; nine grandchildren and spouses, Carlita and Billy Turk; Teresa Ford; Sonya and David Eash; Ricky and Fran Chastain; Mike and Sonia Chastain; Kim and Brian Foster; Casey and Whitney Chastain; Donnie and Nikki Bennett; Darrell and Rebecca Bennett; 41 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren on the way.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Wolffork Christian Fellowship Church in Rabun Gap with Rev. Philip Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel and from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the church prior to the service.
