Danny Ray Dougherty

Mr. Danny Ray Dougherty, age 73 of Gainesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center surrounded by his family. 

A service celebrating Danny’s life will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church, 1210W Ridge Rd., Gainesville, GA, with the Rev. Darryl Womack and Rev. Scott Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11:00AM until the service time.

Danny was born on July 13, 1951, in Gainesville, GA to the late Lee and Sally Conner Dougherty. He was a graduate of South Hall High School Class of 1969 and served in the US Army Reserves. He worked for Big Star/ A & P for many years and retired from Sam’s Wholesale Club. Danny was a faithful member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and Savior and his family more than anything. He was a true prayer warrior and will be dearly missed by so many people.

Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Vicki Lance Dougherty; children, Renee & Shane Gazaway, Ben Dougherty & Angela Dooley, Kevin & Joanna Pethel and Krista & Tommy Martin; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Ann Dougherty; grandchildren, Emma Grace Gazaway, Rhett Dougherty, Kenley Patton, Jacob Cradle, Dalton Pethel, Ryleigh Rush, Jacob Pethel, Grant Pethel, Ella Martin and Olivia Martin; great-grandchildren, Brantley Pethel, Hadleigh Pethel and Oakleigh Pethel; nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.
