Jean Allen Cole

Jean Allen Cole, age 85, of Buford, Ga, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Lou Ella Allen; brother, Calvin Allen; sister, Judy Wright. Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband, of 65 years, James E. Cole of Buford, GA; children, Richard (Kathy) Cole of Buford, GA, , Leisa (Joey) Shelton of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren, Kenneth Kitching of Hoschton, GA, Steven (Erica) Cole of Buford, GA, Nikki Shelton of Lilburn, GA; four great-grandchildren, Kamdon Kitching, Kennedy Kitching, Braxton Halford, Gracie Cole; sister, Vicki (Boyd) Adams of Florida; brother, Sam (Yvonne) Allen of Lawrenceville, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Cole was born on December 28, 1938. She was a graduate of Murphy High School in Murphy N.C. Mrs. Cole was a retired city clerk from the City of Lilburn after 29 years of service. She also worked for the City of Auburn, GA, Motorola, and Sears. Mrs. Cole was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church of Buford. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also loved her cats.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford, GA, with Pastor Danny Newbern officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 pm. at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
